The Glencoghan Horseshoe Loop forms one of the most strenuous and challenging looped routes in Ireland. The terrain is mainly rocky ridgelines, loose scree, shale and low lying bog. The walk is not for the faint hearted and covers Bencorr at 711m, while the col between Benbreen and Bengower involves some scrambling and declining over loose scree. The views you will experience over the Inagh Valley along with the views to the south of the Northern Bens and the Maumturks to the East. The walk finishes at Benlettery Hostel.
